4. Turn off your computer when you are not using it. PCs produce heat so turning off the compurters reduces home cooling loads. The Department of Energy has provided the following guidlines:
  •  Turn off the monitor if you aren't going to use your PC for more than 20 minutes.
  • Turn off both the CPU and monitor if you're not going to use your PC for more than 2 hours.

5. Switch off lights when you leave the room because there is NO reason for it to be on. Make it a habit.

6. Stop junk mails at home. 48 millions of trees and 10 to 24 billion gallons of water are wasted each  year. Also, its just SO annoying to receive junk mails EVERYDAY.

7. Pay bills online. It hurts less when you pay online and you are saving checks.
8. Go paperless on bank statements. You can save tons of trees and never have to open mails from banks.

9. Donate unwanted items, don't throw them away. Someone may be in great need an olf pair of shoes.
10. Open your windows, use daylight. It's there so USE IT!
